What Do Itchy Rashes On The Buttocks And Legs Indicate?

I have a rash that is really bad on my butt and my legs. My last partner was not completely honest with sleeping with more than one person at the same time. The rash will itch at times but makes sores that hurt. Last contact with my partner was 4 months ago. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think this itchy rash and open sores that open and hurt are herpes 2 virus. Hsv2 blood testing can be done to confirm diagnosis.

You can take acyclovir tablets to help stop more outbreaks. It needs some days to be healed. You can use calamine lotion over lesions to help with itching and prevent infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
