What Do Lumps Behind The Ears Indicate?

I had a sever ear infection in oct left side. A wick was placed for med. Took oral antibiotic Mid Nov I found one large nodule and one small behind ear and edge of neck. Had ultrasound a third was found. I had taken my second antibiotic. Beginning of Dec MRI. Said all ok Third round antibiotic. Nodules reduce in size. I still have swollen gland under jaw bone and feel tightness in sides of neck. And occasional pain from the left side towards throat. Sharp sudden pains. Still worried...No explanations. Do I need to look further ?
