General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Type 1 diabetes is insulin dependent. It is insulin deficiency diabetes & detected in childhood & type 2 diabetes is non insulin dependent. It is due to insulin resistance acquired by wrong life style & adult onset diabetes Your blood values are high.& need strict diet with regular exercises , having controlled body weight & regular medication. No even when the blood sugar gets normal... you can not / should not stop medicines ( unless advised by treating doctor ) A life long adoption of changed life style & medication with regular check ups & yearly ), consultation of diabetologist are keys to healthy life . Thanks
