Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Helo doctor, This is indhumathi, now my pregnancy is 13 weeks, I am having subchorionic collection in lower uterine segment and also the placenta is posterior and lowlying. lower margin of the placenta is seen covering the internal os. Is it serious issue? By taking complete bed rest can I recover from this?
Placenta Previa is a condition where the placenta lies low in the uterus and partially or completely covers the cervix and subchorionic hematoma is collection of blood between the uterine wall and the chorionic membrane.
There is nothing worry about it because placenta previa, as well as the hematoma resolve as the uterus, grows it increases the distance between the cervix and the placenta.
However, it can cause serious bleeding and other complications later in pregnancy for that you have to visit the hospital immediately.
Continue taking bed rest as advised by your doctor and also avoid activities that can trigger bleeding, such as sex and exercise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
