Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Just had some thyroid tests done and am wondering why one of them may be high. I have a lab review next week but am interested in finding out the reason. T4 - 1.23 TSH - 2.97 T3- 140 Thyroglobulin - 13.7 Anti- thyroglobulin - TPO - 9 I have been diagnosed with DM type 2, elevated chole, elevated bp and obesity.
TSH levels should be between 0.4 to 4.5 which is normal in your report. T4 levels are reduced.A normal TSH with low T4 can indicate pituitary disorders which should be ruled out. Anti thyroglobulinantibodies are within normal limits. Obesity and elevated cholesterol levels should be treated and thyroid function tests should be repeated for further management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
