Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a thyroid cancer survivor, 13 years. My Synthroid has been 175mcg since 2003. My labs came back last week as TSH 0.110 and T4 at 2.33. My regular doctor is dropping my Synthroid to 150mcg. I m worried about the TSH. I have had my entire thyroid removed. I am very overweight but have lost weight recently. 268 in March currently 239. 2 years ago I was 328. Not sure if this has made a difference.
Based on the report of thyroid tests you seem to be taking slightly larger dose of synthyroid. The dose of synthyroid is adjusted in such a way that the TSH value should be in the range of 0.4 mU/L to 4.0 mU/L. Continue taking synthyroid at a lower dose as your doctor prescribed.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
