Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 24 years old with my first pregnancy. This is my 8th month, i done my ultrasound scan. In that they mentioned anterior placenta, not low lying grade 1 maturity , and as on now i have gained around 18 kgs of weight. whether it will risk my normal delivery. Doctor says you may have caesarean because of your weight. Is that true?
Many obese women do safely deliver their babies vaginally. On the other hand, if your BMI is over 40 there is a chance that your doctor will recommend the CS as the safest way to deliver your baby.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
