Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Arms And Fingers Indicate?
The night after my trans radial cath was done my hand swelled up twice the size or more I have a numbness and tingling in arm and fingers and now its cold to the touch. I have no clots test was fine. The cardiologist says talk to family doctor. Family doctor says talk to cardiologist. Very scared. What do I do?
I am sorry for the fastidous and scary situation you are in.
The swollen hand after trans radial Cath was carried out associated with numbness and tingling is suggesting possible local clots.
During the procedure, intra radial vasodilators are used to prevent radial artery spasms. Perhaps dilatation could have occurred abnormally, causing swollen hands.
It is the duty of the doctor who carried out the procedure to take care of your current problem with swollen hand. Ask him/her to get helped.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Albana Sejdini
