What Do Pain And Burning Sensation Around The Ribcage Indicate?

I think I have shingles but have no rash. I thought I bruised my ribs but the burning and sharp pain is not going away and it ha been 6 weeks. I have been to urgent care and had exrays showing nothing broken. If it is my rib cage how long until the pain goes away. It is on my left side just under my breast

Hello,

I think you have Costochondritis of the ribs. Kindly take any anti-inflammatory medication as paracetamol or ibuprofen helps in healing the joint pains.

Any painkiller can also be taken for time being until the pain subsides. Nothing to worry more but with medicines, the pain will subside.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
