Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Pain And Burning Sensation On The Right Elbow Indicate?
I feel a pain/burning feeling about a 1/2 inch from the left side of my right elbow leading to the elbow on that same side. I do not feel it when I touch or press my skin. I only feel it if I am reaching for something or carrying something with my right arm hanging down. If I lift my arm up carrying something I may or may not feel it. It has been going on about 4 months. Did get a little better but now back to the same pain.
I think, here you meant that the pain travelled from the elbow to the wrist/hand. I believe, you are facing the problem of a possible radiculopathy. I would recommend testing an MRI of the cervical spine.
The treatment will depend on the severity of the root compression. While we await the report, you can try to meet your general physician for a prescription of mild dose of Pregabalin drug that may help you get some symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Saumya Mittal
