What Do Pain And Numbness In The Left Leg Indicate?

My legs hurt and my left leg gets numb (upper leg) after sitting for a awhile. I had surgery 3 months ago for reflux in my left leg and I also have Parkinson s. My lower legs were hurting before the surgery and they still do. What kind of specialist do I go to?.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You can consider seeing a rheumatologist for assessment. He or she would be able to assess you and determine the cause of your pain. It is possible, depending on the findings that the person may need to refer you further e.g., if a nerve related cause is found, may need to see a neurologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
