What Do Pain And Pressure In The Abdomen On The Right Side Indicate?
Female age 57: I have had off and on right side pelvic pain (ovary area) mild to severe pressure and cramping for over 6 weeks. My health Insurance provider declined a subsequent authorization order from my PCP for a CT scan after the internal ultrasound could not find anything of note. BCBS wanted a urine test and a lipase and amylase blood test first with out any explanation. 1) What are they looking for or trying to rule out? The results were only a little high on the Amylase level. This delay in discovery is most disconcerting... The PCP staff suggested I alter my diet (less fat and carbs/sugars) which is already 90% vegetarian low dairy, occasional fish, lots of veggies/fruits already, so I don t see how much more I can change. What I ve read indicates there is not much you can do to reduce your Amylase since it is the bodies pancreas or salivary glands reaction from increased production or a decrease in clearing. 2) Your thoughts on diet idea? BTW: I have a history (2 surgeries) of endometrioidal cysts with one rupture both in my late 20 s. This screams gynecological to me. 3) Any info or suggestions to offer?

What Do Pain And Pressure In The Abdomen On The Right Side Indicate?
Hi, As per my surgical experience, the normal ultrasound report rules out major extra and intra lumen pathologies. Rest possibilities can be intestine colic, pedicle pain, colon motility related issue or others. Raised pancreatic enzymes with isolated pain right lower abdomen does not co relate on clinical grounds. Along with diet instructions, simultaneous intake of anti spasmodic GI specific antibiotics, probiotics will help faster recovery. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
