What Do Pain And Swelling In The Ankles Indicate?

Hello Doctor. I am in India aged 37yrs. For a few months i have swelling in my ankle and it pains when i stand up and walk There has been no increase in my weight for the past 7yrs. The pain progresses to my knee, back and neck It initially started with my left leg now right leg also has the same issue the pain never subsides even after a night s sleep i dont take pain relievers just use pain balms what should and can i do to relieve the pain My walk has been altered and there s a family history of arthritis in my family as well Also i do simple exercises like cycling atleast 3 days a week for fear of my movements getting restricted\ i am taking Throid tablets (50mcg) for the past 12yrs No signs of diabetes, confirmed with the tests When i consulted an Ortho he prescribed a specialised heel sandals for me Other than that i havent taken an x-ray and the pain has no improvement

Your symptoms suggestive of arthritis. It is joint inflammation condition. For further evaluation digital x ray of joint should be done.Serum RA factor, ANA estimation, serum calcium estimation also should be investigated for further evaluation. According to report finding further management plan decided. I suggest you to consult good orthopedic surgeon nearby for examination.
