What Do Pain And Swelling In The Feet While On BP Medication Indicate?
Hello my doctor put me on this blood pressure medicine and afew days later my feet went to swelling up so bad it hurts to walk. It wasn’t this bad at first but it keeps getting worse should I quit taking it because it makes me feel real bad on top of the swelling goes and my vision has been real bad since I started taking it. I would wait till I went back to my regular dr but my feet swole up so bad it hurts to walk on them.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Prashant's Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
BP medicine doesn't cause pain and swelling in feet. There is possibility of other heart condition like heart failure.
If I were your treating physician, I would have gone for thorough examination and couple of test to rule out heart condition.
So, my suggestion is that take your BP medicine regularly and visit your physician. Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Prashant
