What Do Pain And Swelling In The Shoulders Indicate?

my mom has a painful bruised swollen shoulder for past week, she went to doctor on Friday for xray and blood work which both came back normal. Xray showed no broken bones and blood work was normal. She is going to call doc now for MRI, any idea why this may happen?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per my surgical experience, the pain and swelling in shoulders with normal x-ray indicate possible ligament or neuronal issue.
I strongly recommend to consider an MRI of the shoulder for further diagnosis and further management.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
