What Do Pain And Swelling On The Finger Indicate?

Hi, I have what I believe is an infected finger. It was a little sore about four days ago but seemed like nothing, then yesterday came up very swollen and extremely sore, then today my whole arm feels tired and my (gland?) under my arm in my armpit has a sore spot. The doctor I went to seemed rushed and didn t really look at my finger and rushed me out with some oral antibiotics before I could explain my arm and sore armpit so I feel like it could be a little worse than the doctor realised. Are the oral antibiotics sufficient or should I go to another doctor?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should probably finish the cycle of antibiotics that your doctor has given.
Infection needs antibiotic to be treated.
Meanwhile clean and dry frequently the area.
You should also use an antibiotic cream for local effect.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
