What Do Pain And Weakness Under The Shoulder Blades Indicate?

I was diagnosed with a probable UTI 2 days ago and started on Ciprofloxacin but still don t feel any better. I have a dull aching sensation and muscle weakness under my shoulder blades on both sides and I am very fatigued. I do have ESRD. When can I expect to start feeling any better?

Hello.

Thank you for the query.

Back pain indicates that the infection is in your kidneys. Usually it takes 2-3 days after antibiotic intake for this symptom to go away. However you may have bacteria resistant to this antibiotic. So if you do not see an improvement aftet few days, another urine test should be done and antibiotic change considered.

Hope this helps.
Regards
