General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You would have had lot of tissue (edema) swelling inside which appear to be making that crunchy sound while walking even now. I would advise you to take plain painkillers like paracetamol on 'as and when required' basis for pain. The condition will definitely resolve but it may take long time since you have had quite a lot of tissue damage. Paracetamol will be helpful in reducing the swelling and it is a comparatively safer drug to use.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
