Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Pain In Lower Back, Hip And Pelvis With Constipation And Blood In Stools Suggest?
I have been experiencing lower back pain and pain in my pelvic area and my left hip. I have been to the hospital twice. They could not find any thing wrong except for intestinal flu. I have also been experiencing blood in my stool, sometimes constipated.
The most common cause of blood in the stool is anal fissure or hemorrhoids. Get examined and treated. Avoid taking spicy oily food, prefer to take boiled food. Blood in your stool may also come from the upper GI tract. Peptic ulcer disease is the most common cause.
An upper GI bleed can be diagnosed with an endoscopy, get it done. If confirmed treatment can be started. Other medical conditions that can cause blood in stool are gastroenteritis, kidney stones, UTI, or colon cancer, get clinically examined and evaluated, get blood workouts and imaging tests done, get treated.
To get relieve from discomfort you can take NSAIDS, naproxen, one stat when needed. You can take PPIs, it will give relieve from gastritis & discomfort.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
