What Do Painful Bumps On The Glans Penis Indicate?
Hello, I had taken an std/hiv test and already received results back saying how I was negative for everything except herpes simplex 1. The whole reason I went into the clinic was for bumps that began on the glans (head of the penis) and feel as though they are spreading. I am also feeling a stinging pain coming from the glans that has been there for 5 days, the stinging intensifies after urination. What could be wrong with me.?
You just have herpes simplex virus infection. You don't have to worry about other sexually transmitted diseases because it is not more bothersome. It can be treated, just with any antivirals for 5-7 days. Pain, the itching will subside soon. Swelling will take little time. Get a prescription for antiviral drugs from any registered practitioner and take it. Maintain personal hygiene. Wash the penis after every urination. Sexually transmitted diseases can be prevented by clean hygiene only. Even educate your partner about the same. If she also gets an infection, then prophylactic antiviral therapy is indicated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
