What Do Painful Cramps In The Lower Pelvic Area Indicate?

I was diagnosed with a UTI seven days ago. I went back to the doctor this morning with worse cramping in lower pelvic area today and the doctor tested my urine and states he sees no infection in the test. My pain is like a 6 and I have white slimy stuff in my urine. I still have three days left of antibiotics and I feel worse. Any idea what else this could be.

Hello,

It looks like you have resistant UTI. Avoid using public washrooms/toilets. Take care of your hygiene, wear cotton clothes & avoid sex for a couple of days. To get relieve from painful lower abdominal cramps take spasmol (spasmoproxyvon), one SOS when required. You can take antacids also.

Since you are still having discomfort you are suggested to get repeat Urinalysis done (C/S & R/E). It will help you take specific medications & get better faster. In the meantime, take plenty of water & syrup Alkacitron-10ml twice daily in a cup of water for 10 days. Get clinically re-examined, get treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
