General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Painful lumps in the throat are commonly indicative of enlarged tonsils or adenoids. It becomes enlarged due to bacterial infection & chronic cold. However, they can also be swollen salivary glands caused by infection or cancer. Painful lymph nodes in the arm pits commonly occur due to irritation, inflammation caused by deodorants, antiperspirants, cysts, breast cancer, etc.

You are suggested to visit ER, get clinically assessed & get all the blood & Imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the severity of your symptoms & pathology detected. You will be treated with oral or intravenous antibiotics/ antivirals or surgery if needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
