What Do Profuse Sweating, Sore Jaw And Tingling, Numb Arms Suggest?

My step son is in a truck with the air conditioner on high and he should be cool but he is sweating severely his jaw is sore and he said his left arm feels tingly and numb. We have called the ambulance but can you give us an indication of what this may be. He had told me 2 days ago he has been having pillow soaking sweats for a few weeks now.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

As per your query your son has symptoms of Guillain Barre Syndrome which is because of decreased immunity of body and it affects peripheral nerves of brain due to which there is secretion of hormones, vision, urination, breathing, heart beat, soreness of jaw, numbness and tingling sensations.

I would suggest you to visit neurologist for this. Get your self examined properly with all required tests. Plasma exchange and high dose intravenous immune globulins are often helpful to shorten this condition.

Plasmapheresis and high-dose immunoglobulin therapy are recent measures for treatment of numbness and tingling.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
