What Do Purple Spots On The Soft Palette Indicate?
Hi! I have purple spots on my soft palette like the size of pen dots. They are clustered together. What could that be? I am also a smoker and I used to smoke marijuana. Could it be caused by that. Also my gums are white and the back of my throats is white. Any idea of what's going on?
It looks like clusters of purple spots on soft palate can be due to Petechiae formation that can occur due to trauma to small blood vessels and can be due to injuries like eating hard and sharp foods, if you smoke using a pipe, biting on hard things like pen or pencil, fellatio etc. White appearance of gums and throat can be due to blanched mucosa that can be due to continuous smoking.. Other cause can be due to excessive keratin deposition like Leukoplakia.. So it is advisable to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination is a must to narrow down the exact cause.. First of all you should stop smoking and start gargling with warm salt water.. Avoid spicy and hard foods..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
