What Do Rashes And Swollen Ankles While On Levetiracetam Indicate?

I take 2 Levetiracetam 500mg tablets twice per day along with 1 Lisinopril 20 mg tablet for my blood pressure and 2 Doc-Q-Lace 100mg daily. Now I have begin to notice some side effects like rash, swollen ankle, dry mouth, kidney problems and a low sex drive. Any advice

Hello,

Have you started taking the mentioned medicine recently? There are certain side effects which are seen commonly. Rashes are certainly side effect which should be given medical attention if it consistently appears and creates problems like itching or rises gradually.

I would advise you to contact your doctor for the same. He will guide you on continuing the medicine or not. Other things swollen ankle and dry mouth and kidney issues might be related to the other medicines you are taking. You should mention these to your doctor as he knows your illness and history well, he will be able to provide you with appropriate guidance to improve symptoms.

He might ask you to get some blood tests and other diagnostic tests are done to see what's causing the issue if not medicines. Follow his advice on further management. Do not hesitate to contact for any further queries in future.
