What Do Rashes In The Groin Area Indicate?

I have been dating the same boy for over two months, and we have been each other’s only two sexual partners that whole time. The other day I started to breakout in an extremely painful rash on my genital area, it does not hurt to pee at all, and the pain is just a burning sensation. The whole area is very red and swollen. I went to a fast med place and the doctor thought it was genital herpes, and she ran a test for it. I’m freaking out and want to know my odds sooner, so what are the chances that’s I have genital herpes? My boyfriend is having absolutely no signs of symptoms of herpes, and never has. I am also anemic and have an extremely weak immune system.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The very immune system may mean that your partner has an asymptomatic infection and you developed symptoms. You should take proper treatment as antivirals as acyclovir or ganciclovir.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
