Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Recurring Elevation In Ammonia Levels Indicate?
I was recently hospitalized with high ammonia levels (near 200). I was released with levels of 53 2.5 weeks ago and now my levels are 79. Ct Scan and MRI of brain and stomach are completely normal, as is all the other blood work. No trips out of the country, no cirrhosis, no infections. What can cause this-my doctors are stumped. Thank you.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, you have not mentioned the symptoms for which the test being done, hyperammonemia is metabolic disorder and it may be congenital to hope this information helps.
