What Do Red And Itchy Rash Behind The Ear With A Small Lump Suggest?
Hello, I got a rash yesterday morning when I woke up and it was quite red, and it burnt and was extremely itchy. Today it is still there but it s not longer burning, however, I just discovered that I have a lump just at the base of my ear behind it. I m not sure what it is. Any ideas?
As per your query you have symptoms of red and itchy rash behind the ear with a small lump which is because of ear infection leading to otitis externa and it could be due to skin allergic reaction as well. Need not worry. I would suggest you to: - Apply ciplox or gatiflox ear drops for local application - Keep ears dry and clean - Apply topical antibacterial ointment such as betnovate on skin - Avoid touching or pricking it with sharp object.
If symptoms persist you should visit ENT specialist and go for examination and start treatment after proper prescription.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari, Dentist
