What Do Red Bumps On The Inner Arm Indicate?

HI. I have 4 tiny red bumpson my inner arm. Appeared 24 hrs ago. Itching and minor localized pain in the area. They raised and filled w/pus this evening; now crusting over. No bumps anywhere else. Checked home for bed bugs; none. Have not been in woods near ticks.

Hi Dear,

Thanks for query. Red bumps on inner arm seems to be due to allergic reaction, clogged pores of sebaceous glands of skin with dead bacteria, and could be heat rashes. I would suggest you to

- Wash inner arm area with neutrogena oil free and wash with mild soap and cold water twice a day.

- Apply cold compresses.

- Apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day.

- Take antibiotic like azithromycin 500 mg.

If condition doesn't improve in a month then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation. Doctor may prescribe hydroquinone cream.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
