Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have these bumps that occur one at a time on my lower back on the right side. A bump will appear, get red and raised, then it will start to dry up and disappear within a week or so. They dont itch and arent painful, just a nuisance. In a month or two, another one will appear and will be around the same area. There are scars that show they all were in the same vicinity of each other. This has been going on for several years.
As per your query, you have symptoms of red bumps on the lower back which could be due to blockage of sebaceous glands as the back has a rich number of sebaceous glands. It could be due to contact dermatitis and hair follicle infection by bacteria leading to folliculitis.
Need not to worry. You should rinse the area with a mild antiseptic solution like Savlon. Take a course of Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. If symptoms keep son persisting you should go for a patch test as well. Apply topical antibiotic cream such as neosporin on it. Take a course of antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
