Hello doctor, My baby is 5 months old tuesday night i notice there are dark red spots on her poop. I thought it was the iton supplement she started yo take on Sunday. She had a stool exam on Wednesday shows normal, seconds exam shows pus cell 1-3 and third shows entomoeba coli (cyst) =0-1 lpf. My daughter poops normal, no pain and no fussiness. Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Just relax.your baby is absolutely normal.your guess is right and those red spots in stool are due to iron supplementation.i appreciate your scientific approach of stool examination(3 samples).very good.i assure you that the results are quite normal and you need not be apprehensive at all.1-2 pus cells is seen in almost every stool sample.entamoeba coli is a commensal organism of gastro intestinal tract, which means that its absolutely harmless and almost seen in most of stool samples.moreover, your baby has got no symptoms at all.so,take a deep breath and enjoy your precious time with your little one.i wish a very healthy, happy and prosperous future for your baby.hope my answer eliminates your worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
