Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had rough red patches inside my cheeks for several months now. It started as one small patch on my right cheek and now it has spread to the other side and on the inside of my bottom lip. I thought it might have been my mouthwash so I stopped using that. It didn't help. I figured it might have been my new skin lotion for rosacea so I stopped using that as well. That didn't help either. I have also noticed that each morning I wake up with a very raspy voice and phlegm. I'm not sure what is wrong with me but I need answers.
Red patches on inner cheeks can be due to causes like Allergic reaction or it can be due to conditions like oral lichen planus or Erythroplakia.. As it is present since several months it should be immediately taken care of.. You should consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated.. If there is any doubt a Biopsy can be done for confirmation.. For now avoid taking using Fluoridated toothpaste or spicy foods. Start taking Vitamin B complex supplement.. You should do warm saline gargles.. Suck ice..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
