What Do Red Rashes On The Buttocks Indicate?

I had a colonoscopy three days ago and still have a very red rash on buttocks and vaginal and anal area. I have tried Desitin and A and D ointment along with warm baths. It does seem to be is a little better But still quite red, itchy and a little bumpy. I have some TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE CREAM USP that was prescribed for a rash on my leg about a year ago. The expiration date is in 2019. Would this be ok to use on this rash?

Red rash on the buttocks occur mainly due to many reasons like fungal infection, heat rash, allergic reaction due to detergent, soap, bacterial infection of hair follicles and contact dermatitis. I would suggest you to take benadryl twice a day as of now and apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product. Avoid touching or picking rash. Maintain complete hygiene. You should consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antihistamine, corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short. Wear loose clothes and try cotton bottoms as it will avoid friction.
