It changes from being not itching and fairly calm to feeling inflamed, somewhat itchy and getting more red. It it located on the upper side of my hand. It started slowly and seems to spread but not on adjoining areas. I have two fairly new spots on my left hand. I have never had skin problems. I am healthy and I am not on any medication. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is possible that you have an insect bite or some form of dermatitis. In my opinion, you should use calamine lotion for the skin.

Additionally, you can take an anti-histaminic for the itching and the inflammation like Cetirizine or Hydroxyzine drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
