Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I have been noticing red spots appearing to make a sort of rash- it originated from my groin and spreading on both sides of my genitals, it gets irritated after a lot of friction with underwear. I haven t engaged in any sexual activity in over 3 years so I don t see how it could be a STD.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of red spots in the genital area which can occur due to many reasons like fungal infection, heat rash, allergic reaction due to detergent, soap, bacterial infection of hair follicles and contact dermatitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wear loose clothes and try cotton bottoms as it will avoid friction. Take benadryl twice a day as of now and apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product. Maintain complete hygiene. Avoid touching or picking rash.
You should consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
