Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son gets small red/purple spots all over his heels, side of foot that is usually on the side he sleeps on. Both feet get these red areas...he is disabled, cant walk and sits in a wheel chair during day. I think its blood building up in these areas causing all the dots to appear...and they dont go away either. Im trying to lay him on the other side, and lightly massaging the area with lotion. any other suggestions??
They are called Petechiae. Kindly get his blood tested done. There might be micro hemorrhages due to dilated veins or due to varicosities.
Get his bleeding time, clotting time, PT APTT, INR checked in order to rule out any blood dyscrasias. If that is normal then we need to examine him for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
