What Do Red Spots In The Lower Arms Indicate?

I have spots on just on my lower arms.. Red spots and I get them about 2 times a year and they last for about three months. last time they went away I was using cortisone cream. but it took three weeks of using it 3 times a day It also itches and my lower arms where this is happening is dry. I put lotion on for the dryness this does not happen anywhere else on my body

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query you have symptoms of red spots in the lower arms which can occur due to conditions like contact dermatitis, allergic reaction due to detergent, soap, metals and could be due to Lyme's disease and sometimes sudden response of body to allergan. Need not to worry. You should avoid touching or pricking these red spots and apply aloe vera gel on them. Maintain complete hygiene and avoid wearing any clothes which can cause frictional heat. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antihistamine, corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short. For now take Benadryl twice a day, apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product .
