Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello i have had a sore throat for 7 weeks now i have been on amoxicillin for 5 days the sore throat came back then when on penicillin for 10 days and the sore throat has returned it hurts to swallow and yawn my glands are swollen and i have green/yelloe mucus at the back of the throat and its very red with spots
Red spots on throat seems to be due to symptoms of sore throat due to infection by streptococcus bacteria and due to inflammation of tonsils. You should take preventive measures such as do warm saline gargles on daily basis. You should gargle with antiseptic mouthwash. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Take combination of antibiotic such as Amoxicillin and anti- inflammatory drugs. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should go for blood and throat swab test. Once proper diagnosis has been made start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
