I have gone through your question..
The symptoms you have mentioned in the question point towards the diagnosis of an exanthematous fever.
Most probable cause for your rashes can be rubella infection which is a acute contagious viral infection. The symptoms starts as rash in face and neck. In your case there can be joint pain and fever in next few days. The lymph nodes behind your ear are also pointing towards rubella viral infection. The infection is contagious in first five days.So it is better to take proper rest and remain hydrated. If you are female and pregnant then you should immediately meet a physician as rubella infections in pregnancy are very dangerous for the fetus.
My advice is it is better to avoid long tiring journeys and visit a physician for further treatment.
