Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My voice has been crackly and I can t raise the octive in my voice for a month now, my Doctor says I have red streaks in the back of my throat. I have been a smoker since age 16 and am now 53. It s not painful. Dr says probably post nasal drip, can you tell me what you think please?
Red streak can be seen in case of chronic inflammation condition. So it can be chronic pharyngitis like condition. Decongestant tablet like Levocetirizine once a day for five days can be prescribed for that.
If no improvement, then posterior pharynx examination and indirect laryngoscopy examination should be done. Consult an otorhinolaryngologist for the examination and discuss your case.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
