What Do Resolved Bilateral Pleural Effusions On A PET Scan Report Suggest?
What does the term “resolution” mean on a PET scan? I have mantle cell lymphoma, which was evident in my pre-treatment scan. In the current scan, on of the impression/comparison items says “Resolved bilateral pleural effusions.” Does this mean there is no appearance of that condition?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You might have metastatic lung disease because of which pleural effusion occurred. Pleural effusion means a collection of fluid in pleura, that has been resolved which means now no more fluid in pleura.
It's showing improvement but it doesn't mean your lymphoma cured. For that regularly prescribed chemotherapy should be taken. For lymphoma, you can consult nearby hematologist or oncologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
