Hello,

Your condition is called cough syncope or laryngeal vertigo. In patients with cough syncope, direct suppression of the sensory cough reflexes is indicated. Such medications include codeine, lidocaine, dextromethorphan, chlophedianol, levodropropizine, and morphine.

You need to consult a pulmonologist for the above prescription. You may also need to undergo various other investigations to rule out any organic pathology behind getting dizzy while coughing.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
