What Do Severe Cramps And Pain In The Thighs Indicate?
I am 67 but fairly active and walk four miles for five day weekly but since October, 2016 I have been experiencing severe cramps and pain in the back of my thighs with the condition being more severe on the right. It occurs when I awake in the mornings. Is there a common cause for this condition?

What Do Severe Cramps And Pain In The Thighs Indicate?
Hi, It might be due to periphery occlusive vascular disease due to the poor blood supply. Other possibilities are dehydration and neuropathic pain. You can consult a general surgeon and get an arterial Doppler to assess the blood supply. As of now, you can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Tramadol for pain relief. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
