What Do Small Bumps On The Penis Indicate?

Hi there. I am just noticing very small bumps around the rim of my penis. Almost resembles sandpaper texture. It becomes much more noticeable when erect or after having sex. It does not hurt or itch but there is a slight discomfort. I am worried of it being possible herpes. I am having very bad anxiety about this. Please help
