What Do Small Red Bumps On Back, Chest And Face Of A 8 Year Old Suggest?

My 8 year old son has had a very sudden onset of small, red bumps all over his back, chest, neck and face an a very few on his legs. He is running a low grade fever of 99.1. He has had all vaccinations. I am wondering if you would have an idea a to what it could be? He does suffer from eczema but it usually does not look like this and is confined to his knees and elbows.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be a skin eruption associated with fever or viral infection.

Other possibilities like HFMD( hand foot mouth disease) must be ruled out as well.

In most cases it will settle by itself. Consult a pediatrician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
