Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes...I have sores on my genitals for 3 plus years, which I continually pick at and they bleed then heal then I pick again. I get sores on my arms and face, which it seems like it takes forever to heal and an unfortunate uncontrollable 30 lb weight loss. My primary care physician has ordered a battery of tests over the years and all results are negative. I am mentally and physically exhausted and convinced that there is something terribly wrong. I get about 5-7 hours of sleep at night. I take Aleve for my pain and swelling and lorazepam for anxiety (mainly to help me sleep). So what else can be done to help me feel better about myself.
Based on the history you have shared, recurrent or delayed healing ulcers on genitals may need work up for bechets disease, but other autoimmune conditions and vasculitis profile may be needed.
Consulting a dermatologist and a rheumatologist is needed. Infectious disease specialist may be needed for gebital ulcers to rule out infective causes. STD profile may also be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
