What Do Spasms Near The Iris After Cataract Surgery Suggest?
I had cataract surgery yesterday on my right eye. My vision is much better, but my iris is spasming at times, visible to me and others who look at the eye. Also, it seems like the lower right quadrant of my vision in that eye looks like it has a film over it. Are these symptoms something I need to call my doctor about as an emergency? Thank you so much.
Cataract surgery is the procedure to remove your affected lens and replacing it with new artificial lens through cornea. At the most iris is not affected during the procedure. Incision is made in the outer eye that is cornea. Lens removal and insertion of artificial lens are done through this incision. It may take weeks to heels completely. Your vision should be improving day by day. It is better to visit your doctor, if there is problem in your vision. They do slit lamp examination to identify the problem.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pradeepraj, General & Family Physician
