What Do Specks In Breast On A Mammogram Indicate?

Today, during my mammogram, I was told that the radiologist found a few specks in my right breast and am scheduled to have biopsy next week. Will the biopsy help remove those specks or just tell them if they are benign/malignant? Have fibroadenoma in left breast. Thanks.

hello
thank you for asking the question.
In mammogram, you got the specks. so to confirm the diagnosis that why these specks is due to, biopsy is required.
By doing biopsy, specks are not removed. but final diagnosis that it is due to benign or malignant condition can be reached. so not worry about anything, just wait for the report and then consult a doctor for future planning about a report.
hope this will helpful to you.
