Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Spontaneous nose bleeds could happen due to presence of fragile vessels inside the inner surface of the nose in an area called 'Little's area'.
This could have been caused due to inflammatory or allergic lesions of the nose leading to mucosal congestion. However, it could be a manifestation of underlying coagulation disorder due to defective clotting mechanism.
In acute bleeding phase, kindly pinch your nose bending forward for about 10 to 15 minutes and breath through the mouth. Avoid nose picking, as it could result in mechanical damage to mucosa precipitating bleeding again and again.
Kindly get you
bleeding time and clotting time investigation done on your blood sample.
With the report, kindly
consult ENT specialist for clinical evaluation and management.
In case the fragile vessels are evident and bleeding does not subside with conservative management, it can be taken care of permanently by means of chemical or electo-cautery.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
