Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Swelling And Itching On The Face Indicate?
I have an irritated, red, puffiness under my cheekbone on the left side of my face. I also have very dry scaly itchy patches around my nose. No cold symptoms. I tried my perscriptiOn for Elidel. Had some reliEf to itchiness but puffiness and redness still are horrible.
As per your query you have symptoms of swelling and itching on the face which seems to be due to an allergic reaction and could be due to dehydration, stress and excessive intake of acidic foods.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you visit an oral physician once and get it examined completely. Start treatment after a thorough examination. Avoid exposure to sunlight. Start a proper course of anti-inflammatory medications. Chew on sugar-free candies. Apply ice packs on the face. Avoid intake of sharp and spicy food. Suck on ice cubes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
